Dominique Weber

Award

Dominique Weber Award

Two years after the disappearance of Dominique Weber in 2020, the Dominique Weber Association created the eponymous award in the form of a scholarship in memory of the artist and charismatic master of profound humanity that he was. This award is intended to perpetuate his musical legacy, and his commitment to supporting young musicians in their professional projects.

For its first edition, the study prize was made possible mainly by donations collected through concerts organised by Dominique’s former students and friends, as a token of their immense gratitude to him. From 2023 onwards, the aim is to be able to award the prize also thanks to the support of public institutions and patrons.

Throughout his career, the future of his students was always at the heart of Dominique’s concerns. It is the reason for which our Association wishes to share his spirit and generosity by attributing the study prize to young  pianists pursuing their musical studies.
